Michael Van's beautiful acrylic paintings (and prints of them) evoke feelings of nostalgia. In his words: "My inspiration to start selling my paintings really boils down to validation. It’s one thing for Mom or even an art instructor to praise my work, but it’s another for someone from the other side of the globe to purchase it and look at it every day. For me, salability is the most objective way to answer the question: Is this art any good? Of course, plenty of bad art sells, great artwork goes unnoticed and tastes change, but transactions still carry the most weight in what is otherwise a very cloudy, subjective and unsubstantiated world of evaluating artistic value."
